Recently on Love & Hip Hop, Yandy Smith, wife of Mendeecees Harris, found herself in the middle of a heated controversy. The drama unfolded when Jessica White confronted Yandy, claiming that her cousin’s niece received inappropriate messages from Mendeecees. This would, of course, be considered cheating, as Mendeecees is a married man.

Yandy, seemingly caught off guard, initially had a moment of silence before claiming that she was actually the one in the messages—pretending to be Mendeecees. Many viewers found this response suspicious, believing Yandy was covering for her husband. She even went as far as apologizing to him for using his account, which only fueled speculation that she was lying to protect him.

Yandy’s History of Relationship Controversy

This scandal isn’t the first time Yandy’s relationship has come under scrutiny. Allegations have long circulated that Yandy “stole” Mendeecees from his child’s mother, Erica. His other child’s mother, Samantha, has also accused Yandy of being a pathological liar.

According to Yandy, she was in a relationship when Mendeecees first approached her and showed interest. She claims she was unaware of his situation with Erica. However, both Erica and Samantha refute this, insisting that Yandy was involved with Mendeecees while Erica was pregnant with his son.

At the end of the day, every woman deserves a partner who values and respects her. No amount of money, fame, or public image should make a woman feel she has to stay where she isn’t truly loved.

Yandy has never shied away from inserting herself into other people’s relationships. She even had issues with Jim Jones, criticizing his spending habits on his longtime partner, Chrissy. However, now that the tables have turned, she is demanding privacy and wants people to stop interfering in her marriage.

But after watching this latest stunt unfold on television, the real question is: are we even surprised?

The most shocking moment in their relationship wasn’t even this scandal it was when the couple appeared on a marriage counseling show. After years of Yandy standing by Mendeecees while he was incarcerated, he admitted that if the roles were reversed, he would not have done the same for her.

For a woman who fought so hard for this man, the revelation was devastating. But at this point, is Yandy still fighting for love, or is she just fighting to protect her public image?

Women like Yandy—and her good friend Rasheeda, who stood by Kirk Frost through multiple cheating scandals—often choose to protect their men rather than face public humiliation. Ironically, the more they try to hide their husband’s infidelity, the more the world scrutinizes them.

It raises an important question:

Is it fair for the public to judge celebrity relationships?

While we criticize these women for staying, many ordinary women tolerate the same situations just in private. Social media magnifies celebrity drama, but in reality, many women lie to protect their partners, just as Yandy is doing now.

Beyond love, Yandy and Mendeecees have built wealth and success together. Their marriage isn’t just about emotions—it’s about family, finances, and legacy. Yandy even went so far as to avoid filing her marriage paperwork initially, allegedly to protect her assets.

Despite her husband’s cheating, she has also made bold decisions in their relationship, such as:

• Wanting to donate her eggs to her cousin, despite Mendeecees’ objections.

• Adopting a daughter while he was in prison, despite his disapproval.

Clearly, Yandy isn’t always the victim—she has made controversial choices in their marriage as well.

Should She Stay or Leave?

At the end of the day, only Yandy knows why she stays. Whether it’s love, money, or simply maintaining her public image, she has chosen to stand by her man.
